Suburban Community Hospital General Surgery Residency is a five-year (categorical) program that offers its residents a broad experience in general surgery. As a well-rounded training program, Suburban Community Hospital’s General Surgical Residency Program prepares its graduates to go onto practice or fellowships in both a skilled and confident manner.

During the five-years of the clinical program, residents gain knowledge of the pre-operative and post-operative patient care with a strong focus on clinical care, develop surgical skills and most importantly, acquire pre-, intra-, and post-operative decision making skills.

As a community hospital, the residents are exposed to a diverse amount of cases as well as pathology. With a recently expanded operating suite, Suburban Community Hospital General Surgery Residency has both a great volume and scope of cases. Our academics are focused with core curriculum lectures, journal reviews, and supplemental educational resources.
