Catherine M. Fusco, DO, Joins Suburban Community Hospital

East Norriton, PA (June 14, 2021) – Catherine M. Fusco, DO, board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine, has joined Suburban Community Hospital’s Medical Group. She most recently served as an assistant professor at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ.

Dr. Fusco has more than seven years of family medicine experience. She has advanced training in osteopathic manipulative medicine and family medicine.

“I am pleased to be able to bring my expertise in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and family medicine to the patients of Suburban Community Hospital,” said Dr. Fusco. “I look forward to becoming a member of the medical staff of such a well-established hospital as Suburban Community Hospital and to joining Suburban Family Medicine at Norristown.

Dr. Fusco grew up in Phoenixville, PA and graduated from Ursinus College in 2007 with a dual bachelor’s degree in biology and dance. She then obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in 2014, and completed an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved internship at Mercy Suburban Hospital and her residency at Suburban Community Hospital, both under the affiliation of PCOM in East Norriton, PA. She completed her post-residency training through PCOM in neuromusculoskeletal medicine/ osteopathic manipulative medicine in 2018 and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

She was on the COMAT Osteopathic Principles and Practice Committee for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and pre-clerkship committee at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine. She previously volunteered as a clinical preceptor at Rowan Student Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Clinic in Stratford, NJ., overseeing students providing OMM to patients at no cost.

Dr. Fusco presented multiple lectures on Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Pediatric Patients at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, in Stratford NJ; Osteopathic Treatment Considerations for Headaches at NJAOPS and Rowan-SOM Kalahari CME event, in Poconos, PA; Perinatal Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Mom and Newborn at the Family Medicine Consortium, in Lancaster, PA; Upper and Lower Crossed Syndrome at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine OPTI GME, in Stratford, NJ; and Getting the Swing of Things: Implementing Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Common Upper Extremity Conditions at Family Medicine Education Consortium, Rye Brook, NY.

Her memberships include American Academy of Osteopathy, American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
