New Colorectal Surgeon Joins Suburban Community Hospital

East Norriton, PA (December 2, 2019) – Dr. Dadrie F. Baptiste, a surgeon specializing in colon and rectal surgery, and general surgery, has joined the Suburban Community Hospitals medical staff and Suburban Surgical Specialists Physician Network.

Dr. Baptiste performs a number of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at Suburban Community Hospital. Her areas of expertise include DaVinci Robotics, transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM), a minimally invasive, same-day surgical procedure for the removal of large rectal polyps, as well as colonoscopy. In addition, she is a widely published author, skilled presenter, and a mentor to medical students.

“We are thrilled to have a physician of Dr. Baptiste’s caliber joining the medical staff at our hospital,” said CMO Mathews Mathews, MD. “She is a highly skilled surgeon who is well-versed in minimally invasive approaches to colon and rectum surgery and laparoscopic surgery, as well as advanced robot-assisted procedures. Her addition to our faculty will greatly enhance our surgical program at Suburban Community Hospital for the people in our community.”

Dr. Baptiste received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. She went on to complete her internship and residency in general surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at William Beaumont Hospital/Oakland University, Oakland, MI.

In addition, Dr. Baptiste received multiple honors and awards from the American Association for Cancer Research, AS Scholar in Training Award, Indiana University School of Medicine, the Shirley Dawn Wyss Breast Cancer Research Fellowship Award, and Washington University St. Louis School of Medicine.

Dr. Baptiste is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Indiana.

In addition to her post at Suburban Community Hospital, Dr. Baptiste is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons, and American Medical Association.
