Update on Non-Urgent and Elective Procedures at Suburban CommunityHospital

East Norriton, Pennsylvania (March 16, 2020) – The U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams, M.D. and American College of Surgeons’ have each provided guidance to postpone elective surgeries while the nation is working to limit the spread of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19. In response, Suburban Community Hospital is postponing non-urgent and non-emergency surgeries and procedures until further notice. This new policy is effective immediately on Monday, March 16.

This temporary measure will allow Suburban Community Hospital to enact preparedness measures to serve the evolving needs of our community. It also minimizes potential COVID-19 exposure to patients and staff. Surgeries that must take place due to urgent or emergent medical need will not be impacted.

All patients scheduled for surgery will be screened for fever and respiratory symptoms and our no visitor policy applies, unless authorized by the clinical leadership team.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and thank our patients for their understanding.

For additional information about our visitor policy, please visit https://www.suburbanhosp.org/For-Patients-Visitors/COVID-19-Patient-and-Visitor-Information.aspx
